Summer jazz festival in the "Piwnica Pod Baranami"

The festival is the biggest Polish jazz festival and one of the largest in Europe. Presented annually approx. 70 concerts and 300 artists. Participate in these programs each year approx. 50,000 listeners.
The festival has occurred many times all the most Polish jazz and many foreign stars (including Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Bobby McFerrin, Jean Luc Ponty, Lena White, Lee Konitz, Branford Marsalis, Joe Lovano, Maria Schneider, Eddie Henderson, Greg Osby , Hamiett Bluiet, Nigel Kennedy, Larry Coryell, The Rosenberg Trio, Rashied Ali and many others). Since 2001, the legendary figures of Polish jazz festival prize - "Jazzowy Baranek".
Summer Jazz Festival at the Piwnica was organized for the first time in 1996 during the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Piwnica. Founder and director of the Festival - Witold Wnuk, inspired by the legendary Peter Skrzynecki, completed in July 1996, a monthly series of daily concerts in the basement. Each year the Festival expanded to include, in addition to the daily concerts at the Piwnica, concerts at the Philharmonic, Opera Krakow, Radio Krakow, Manggha Centre, Hall Vistula and all the jazz clubs of Krakow. Most are also great outdoor concerts and events - like New Orleans Sunday on the Main Market and Jazz Night at the Little Market.
The organizer of the festival is the company Cracovia Music Agency, founded and led by Witold Wnuk.
